Release Data Access Technologies poised to greatly simplify creation and deployment of Web Services with Component-X for ebXML EbXML Meeting, Vienna, Austria May 7th, 2001 Data Access Technologies (DAT) today announced Component-X for ebXML (www.ebXML.org). Component-X provides visual and intuitive "drag and drop" assembly and configuration of Enterprise Business Components and Web Services. The Component-X platform can support ebXML, HTTP, SOAP, .NET, Corba, J2EE, MQ-Series, Java Messaging and other technologies with its open architecture.Component-X works equally well for legacy systems, new applications and services that integrate new and legacy capabilities.Support for ebXML Component-X for ebXML is part of the ebXML "Proof of Concept" demonstration in Vienna. ebXML business process specifications are imported into the Component-X studio and then "wired" with other components to implement the business process or integrate with external or legacy applications. ebXML support includes both design time capabilities and runtime adapters for the ebXML transport and repository. Component-X makes producing ebXML solutions easy and visual and minimizes hand coding. Production versions of the Component-X platform for ebXML will be available 3rd quarter 2001 with beta versions available earlier.Unparalleled Simplicity Component-X provides a visual environment that the average business developer or analyst can easily understand and use. Components are "wired" together in the visual environment and configured for the local requirements. Document and business process transformations, DBMS integration and legacy systems integration are easily instrumented using components that are provided as part of the platform.Open and Standards Based Component-X is based on standards and designed to be open. All Component-X components use standard XML (www.w3c.org) to interconnect. The component model is based on the emerging ebXML standard (www.ebxml.org) as well as the "Enterprise Distributed Object Computing" (EDOC) profile of UML from the Object Management Group (www.omg.org). Component-X can support J2EE (www.sun.com) Corba (www.omg.org) Soap (www.microsoft.com) and other protocols - as adapters become available in the Component-X Marketplace . The Component-X platform is implemented in Java.First look beta release now available The "First look" beta release includes the Component-X Standard edition platform. This platform is available for free on: www.enterprise-component.com.
