An introductioin to MDA and SOA for Enterprise Collaboration

Using web services and Component-X

Course: TR-MDA-INTRO

Format: 1/2 Day Presentation and Demonstration

Audience: Architects, Systems Developers, Technology Officers and Project Managers

Prerequisites: This course assumes the student has a basic understanding of systems architecture

Course Description

This course will provide the student with an understanding of Model-Driven Architecture (MDA), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) with relevant standards and tools. The OMG standard Enterprise Collaboration Architecture ((ECA) will be used as a basis for modeling collaboration, business processes and integration.

Using Component-X™ the student will see how to design a collaborative business process that will create and use SOA based web services to achieve an open, distributed environment. While SOA and web services will be used, a detailed understanding of web services is not required due to the use of MDA automation.

At the end of the curse, students will have a better understanding of MDA and collaborative business processes.

Various exercises will be used during the course. In-house courses may utilize examples derived from the companies own business processes and requirements.
