Vienna, VA, 1 April 2008 - Model Driven Solutions, a Division of Data Access Technologies, Inc., won another major task from GSA for the analysis and selection of an Open Source Services Oriented Infrastructure that supports its One GSA EA. The Team has, to date, won all of the bids let under the GSA Blanket Purchase Agreement awarded just over two years ago. Partners on this bid included IONA and Modus21.

Model Driven Solutions has been working with the Office of the CIO, its Chief Technology Officer and Chief Architect for more than three years to develop the One GSA Enterprise Architecture. In its efforts to extend this architecture across all of GSA, the agency is issuing a series of Request for Quotes (RFQs) to cover GSA Enterprise Architecture activities and procurements over a five year period.  This award is the sixth awarded by GSA, all to the Model Driven Solutions let Team.

This Task Order is to analyze and select an appropriate Open Source Service Oriented Infrastructure to support the efforts of the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) going forward. Part of the task is to ensure that the infrastruture selected can benefit from a move and emphasis on the Business Process Modeling (BPM) capabilities being developed by the FAS. BPM is used to help strongly link the business requirements of the organization with the technology being developed to support it. "We have been working with GSA to develop this capability from a number of different directions over the last couple of years. We are working with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer to implement the first Open Source Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) application for GSA - and maybe the first Open Source SOA application for the entire Federal Government” said Cory Casanave, President and CEO of Model Driven Solutions and DAT.  “This award is a very strong indication of the strength and value that Open Source solutions are capable of providing our government institutions", continued Mr. Casanave.

Model Driven Solutions has put together a team of highly experienced organizations to respond to GSA needs. For this specific project, the team consists of IONA and Modus21. Each of the partners, combined with Model Driven Solutions' methodology, tooling and expertise, provide GSA a complete Enterprise Architecture solution across all of GSA's lines-of-business and service offices.
